There are lockers to keep the cabins clean and organized. Step out onto the balcony, breathe in the fresh air, listen to the laughter of children, and you’ll know you’ve arrived at the best place on earth. In addition to the 118 beds in the cabins there are 23 beds in 6 semi-private rooms located in the Recreation Hall. In total there are 145 beds at Evans Lake. Guests must provide their own bedding / sleeping bag. All buildings are non smoking.
There is limited space for Recreational vehicles. Please call the office for details. Modern washrooms and showers are located beside each cabin set and in the Recreation Hall.
Recreation Hall
With a wood-burning fireplace, the recreation hall is the perfect location to warm up and enjoy a hot chocolate or sing your favourite camp songs. The large recreation hall is complete with a fireplace, sofas, office space, first aid room, and accommodation for up to 23 group leaders. In addition, the side porches are perfect for arts and crafts, socializing and quiet moments. AV Equipment is available by request prior to your visit.
Dining Hall
Our friendly catering staff will prepare appetizing, well-balanced and nutritious meals. Meals are served home-style and lunch and dinner always include fresh vegetables or salad. Vegetarian options and other common dietary preferences and restrictions are cheerfully accommodated, as long as we are notified two weeks prior to your arrival. The dining hall can also be used as a study or assembly area.
BCCA Accreditation
The BC Camps Association (BCCA) is a voluntary association whose primary purpose is to promote safe and quality summer camping for kids. The BCCA maintains high standards for their accreditation program, providing information about camping practices, and information about member camps. The BCCA is also affiliated with the Canadian Camping Association.
We are very proud that Evans Lake has received the highest marks from the BC Camps Association in our most recent Accreditation. The Accreditation process is a very stringent one and includes a thorough review of the following camp operations:
Evans Lake Forest Education Centre is open and accessible to people with disabilities. One of our goals is to continually improve our facilities and services.
While our sites are accessible, they are also camp facilities and therefore are slightly more rustic than what you may find in a medical centre or an urban area. Most buildings and recreation areas are fully accessible. However, please contact us for more information prior to visiting camp. Some people will need assistance on the path separating our lower and upper grounds.
If you have a specific question about accessibility, please contact us.
