Experience the Forest

Every day at Evans Lake is filled with a mixture of structured learning sessions, group recreational activities and free time. Staff lead campers in a variety of sports and field and forest games. Certified lifeguards supervise campers while swimming or boating. During free time there is something for everyone. Campers choose from a variety of activities based on their interests:  swimming, archery, fire building, outdoor cooking, map and compass, hiking, songs and skits,, shelter building, fishing (personal tackle required), volleyball, horseback riding, overnight hikes, canoeing, games, theme meals, crafts, and more.

Eco-Fun Forest Experience Programs
Our Eco-Fun programs are designed to teach campers about the forest environment and its wildlife, and to develop an appreciation for the role that forests play in our lives. Eco-Fun activities are led by qualified instructors who use games, experiments, and explorations to turn the lessons into a fun part of the Evans Lake experience. Campers will leave with a new understanding and appreciation for the world in which they live.

Rock Climbing - New to Evans Lake in 2009!

Rock climbing has been set up as part of regular summer camp program. It takes place on our natural rockface very near to our swimming dock. It is used during eco fun for some age groups and during rec time frequently. The rockface is a great beginner wall and is supervised by trained individuals to ensure the safety of the child.

Horseback Riding Option

We have arranged with nearby Sea to Sky Stables Inc., to offer a one hour long scenic trail ride along the gorgeous Squamish and Cheakamus Rivers. To ensure safety riders are given instructions from trained wranglers before leaving the stables. We will transport campers to the stables for this event. Campers must indicate if they wish to go horseback riding at the time of registration. The riding option is for one session of one hour during the Evans Lake session.

Campfire

Each night there is a special activity to end the day. Hot chocolate and cookies is the only thing that stays the same. Some nights find the entire camp gathered around the fire at the water's edge. Songs are sung, echoes shouted and listened for, and stories told. Other nights involve skits, night walks, a dance, talent night, or individual campfires led by the Cabin Leaders. Campers go to bed with lasting memories of a busy day.
